Standout Legal LLC provides sound legal advice for estate planning, contracts, and family law.
Nikki Bown helped her husband start two successful law firms before he became a judge. She wanted to start her own in order to provide the same five star level of legal service they were providing before.
At a legal conference, she met Barbara Finlinson and they hit it off immediately with the same passion for the law, helping people, providing legal services at reasonable prices etc…
Because Nikki is not an attorney, they had to apply to the Utah Office of Legal Services through the Utah Supreme Court to be approved to practice law.
Together, they sailed through the application process and were approved to start Standout Legal LLC.
They asked Attorney Jax Pettey, formerly of Pettey and Associates, to join them because they knew of his outstanding legal career and felt he met their goals in creating a dream team of honest, professional attorneys.
Together we have over 50+ years of providing good attorney services to the state of Utah.

This law firm was approved by the Utah Office of Legal Services and Renovation of the Utah Supreme Court through the sandbox application process. Standout Legal is owned by lawyers and paralegals. Some of the people who own this company are not lawyers. Your attorney-client privilege, will remain the same as other law firms.
Being regulated by the Utah Office of Legal Services and Renovation is awesome for you because we have to go through an extra reporting system that most other law firms don’t. Giving you extra confidence that your lawyer is providing the best legal service they possibly can.
